When I see that groundhog, we’re gonna have a long talk…

Well the first day of Spring didn’t really have much “spring” to it, but there is promise that winter might be coming to an end. As I looked around here the last several days, I started to realized just how “caged in” this winter has made things. We have five acres of property here, but it’s not reasonable to plow the snow off the whole thing, so I just plow the “necessary” areas. This winter those necessary areas have become the “only” areas, with big piles of snow everywhere so nobody can see out!

We’ve basically lived and run our business in 1/8 of the space we usually do, with all of the messes from projects gone by gradually piling up around us. With springtime has come an opportunity to break out of this shell, clean things up, and widen our horizons. It’s nice that we’re starting to get our space back! I’ve hauled close to a ton of scrap metal out of the shop, maybe half again that much in trash, and finally got a fair amount of the tools put where they belong. I’ve been able to look around and see all of the little projects that weren’t finished when the first snow hit, and make a laundry list of what I need to get done in the next few weeks.

So where am I going with this? Well, I can’t imagine I’m the only one in Michigan with this situation. Winter came hard and fast and STAYED, which doesn’t usually happen around here. It took a lot of people by surprise and didn’t give them a chance to regroup. This means there are a lot of things we all need to get done, and there are a lot of things that Amerivet Services can help with. There are pontoon boats that didn’t get winterized and heavy equipment that was left until Spring without winter maintenance, and landscape equipment that took a beating and needs some TLC before summer. There are trailers that had a few too many miles in the snow, and structural steel that had too much snow load. There are dumpsters that got hit three too many times by snowplows, and boat lifts that had too much ice for breakfast! What about the blow given to your safety equipment and security fences over the winter? Who do you think might be able to help you get things back in order again?

Take a little time to look around and plan ahead, because it won’t be long until the sun comes out and you’ll be all excited to get life moving again, only to find out that something is broken or dying from the consequences of the winter. Give us a call and we’ll help you get it done right, so you can have a worry-free summer!
